Close to Toulouse, the vineyard of Frontonnais, spreads across vase terraces, situated
between the Garonne and Tarn rivers, as you leave the town via the right bank.
TTEERRRROOIIRR
The presence of iron and quartz in this poor and gravelly soil brings out characteristics
specific to the Négrette grape variety : aromas of violet and berries (black berry, cherry
and black currant). A genuine, unique wine, boasting its terroir of origin.
GGRRAAPPEE VVAARRIIEETTIIEESS
40% Négrette, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Syrah.
The unique Négrette variety appeared during the 12th century under the name,
"Mavro" (black in Greek), when it was brought back from Cyprus by the knights of
the order of Saint-Jean of Jerusalem. Capricious, it only acclimatised to the terroir of
Fronton; Négrette is one of the few varieties producing wines with the same aromas as
those expressed when tasting the ripened fruit.
WWIINNEEMMAAKKIINNGG
As in Bordeaux, each grape variety is vinified individually. Parcels of old vines are
selected at harvest-time. The temperature is carefully regulated between 24 and 28°C
according to the varieties. During fermentation, pumping over are adapted according
to each vat, to bring out the tannin's finesse and nobility. Vatting for three to four
weeks depending upon the varieties.
This wine is oak-aged for one year in one and two years old barrels, then in vats and
bottles.
TTAASSTTIINNGG NNOOTTEESS
Dark garnet colour.
Complex nose with spicy aromas (cinnamon, clove, vanilla), hazelnut, grapes, dried figs, caraway, blond tobacco
and cachou. Strong freshness and mild spices on the palate, good ripe and silky tannins, a lengthy ensemble.
If carefully stocked can be aged for 7 to 8 years.

Beef with carrots, roast veal and stewed onions, roast pork with prunes, Coulommiers or Mont d’Or cheese.
